This also corresponds to the designation of Maca as sexual herb of the Incas; or the modern nickname natural Viagra. It is also popular with women who are going through menopause. As an adaptogen, it can balance hormonal changes in the body during a sometimes difficult period of transition and alleviate the associated psychological symptoms.
This is the benefit of adaptogens: they help the body adapt to stressful situations. Maca is one of the most important of them.
